As an international multidisciplinary research and teaching centre and a centre of excellence in terms of human and technical resources, CEREGE covers almost the entire field of environmental geosciences.
By joining forces with other major national and international research structures and with industrial and technological players, CEREGE is now a centre of excellence in the field of geosciences.
CEREGE provides the academic and industrial scientific community with a range of high-tech resources.
CEREGE's teaching covers the entire spectrum of training in Earth and environmental sciences, from undergraduate to doctoral level.
Through the dissemination of its scientific communication, CEREGE aims to establish a permanent dialogue between science, research and the general public, especially the younger generation.
Nicolas ROCHE is Professor in Chemical Engineering at Aix-Marseille University. He is currently Director of the ECCOREV Research Federation, Academic Vice-President of the French Chemical Engineering Society, member of the High Council for Public Health, in charge of AMU's interdisciplinary mission on the SDGs, and Affiliated Professor at the Polytechnic University Mohamed VI (Morocco).
For nearly 40 years, he has been working on designing, improving, and optimising wastewater treatment processes. Initially (1986-2000) to limit the impact of urban and industrial wastewater discharges into the environment. Since 2000 in the integration of wastewater treatment into a circular economy approach, the reuse of treated wastewater and the " smart use " of water in its use cycle particularly adapted to the problems of emerging countries regarding access to water and energy.
