Title: Hydrothermal circulation and magmatic input: variability of the thermal regime of slow ridges
Abstract: *This presentation reviews the data acquired on the hydrothermal systems of slow ridges, on their magmatic activity, and on the thickness of their axial lithosphere (indicative of the thermal regime). The thickness of the lithosphere is a key parameter for tectonic processes at the axis of ridges. The expansion rate and magma flow of the ridge are two important parameters for controlling this thickness. In this presentation, we identify and test the effect of two additional parameters for the case of slow ridges: the depth of magma emplacement relative to the hydrothermal domain, and the temporal variability of magma flow.
The event will start with a coffee served in front of the Pasteur amphitheatre at 13:15.
The presentation will be in French and will be available for streaming (http://streaming-a.osupytheas.fr/embed/live.html).
