Reception of ATTOMAP 310 at CEREGE

As part of the IMAGINE2 project (national platform for imaging and analysis to guide innovation in the face of the environmental and energy transition), CEREGE is today hosting the ATTOMAP 310, the latest X-ray analytical microscope from SIGRAY. This instrument offers the highest spatial resolution available in the laboratory, in the order of a few micrometres (3-5 µm).

The IMAGINE2 project from 1 October 2021

Funded as part of France 2030 (Equipex+), the aim of IMAGINE2 is to create an open technology platform, spread across France, to characterise a wide range of complex, heterogeneous and generally fragile materials and samples, in connection with the environmental and energy transition.

A state-of-the-art tool

With sensitivities unequalled in the laboratory (in the ppm range), this spectrometer enables rapid chemical mapping of the distribution of trace elements. What's more, thanks to a low-energy detector and a vacuum chamber, it is capable of imaging and quantifying (<1%) light elements down to carbon.

This equipment, the only one of its kind in Europe, enhances CEREGE's range of analytical services for the scientific community on a national scale.
